Greenfield Conservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
July 14, 2004
Present: Karen Day & Roger Lessard
Guests: Jim Orr & Don Shumway, CMRC
Don Shumway and Jim Orr of the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center gave a very interesting presentation on the recent NRI study done on the CMRC land. They came with many maps to show us much of what their NRI had covered. The land spreads over 3 towns but most of it is in Greenfield. The study of natural resources was done so that CMRC could plan the best use of the land while conserving much of the natural habitat for wildlife. They also have many ideas on how they might incorporate other forms of energy rather than fossil fuels.
We had a good discussion even though we were a small group. Don and Jim told us that the selectmen thought that the townspeople would like to see this presentation. We thought so too and planned for a public presentation on September 11th at the Meeting House at 7pm.
We adjourned at 9pm.
